Draw a Rhinoceros
Rhinoceroses are huge animals that live in Africa and Asia. They have thick skin and large horns on their noses. These horns help rhinos to defend themselves. Rhinos enjoy eating grass and leaves. They can also run very fast, even though they are so big! Unfortunately, rhinoceroses live in danger. Some people hunt them to sell their horns – because they believe they have special powers. How sad! Rhinoceroses need our help to stay safe. We must protect them so they can continue to live happily in nature. Let’s work together to ensure that these wonderful animals are safe forever! And now we will draw a rhinoceros to show everyone how much we love and appreciate them. Let’s get started!
Step by Step to Drawing a Rhinoceros
Drawing a rhinoceros is not that easy! But if you look closely at the instructions, you will also be able to draw a strong rhinoceros. For our rhinoceros drawing, we start with three rounded shapes. Take a good look at them! The first shape, which will later become the head, is more bean-shaped. The second shape is an elongated oval that stands to the right of the bean. A little further away, we have a slightly smaller oval, which will later become the hind legs.
Next, we move on to the belly. To do this, connect the right middle of the bean with the left part of the far right oval. Below each oval, you can already draw two feet. In the third step, we will add circles for the knees (one circle per foot) a little above these feet. We will also close the back, add an eye and a nostril, and very importantly, draw the large horn on the nose! Your rhinoceros is slowly taking shape. We just need to add the second smaller horn, the ears, and connect the legs. In step 5, we will add a few small, nice details: a tail, the inside of the ears, and a few wrinkles.

Rhinoceros – gray and boring?
Admittedly, Mother Nature didn’t reach very deep into the paintbox when it comes to rhinos. Most ones are gray or gray-brown in color. But it’s great that we have all the freedom in our own drawings, right? Why not draw an entire herd of rhinoceroses in various colors – pink, blue, green, colorful, anything is allowed. Or how about a rhinoceros with a zebra pattern? Or with tiger stripes? Let your creativity run wild!
